In track racing, your line is the path you choose through the corner. Sometimes the job is to hold someone else’s — in a team event, that’s the whole assignment. Sometimes the job is to come out of the draft and take the wind yourself. Knowing which race you’re in is the difference.
I’m Lyndze. I spent ten years designing enterprise software — the systems that run how people get hired, paid, and promoted. Then how people work changed, and the change reached me too. Now I’m rebuilding in public: new practice, new offers, new identity, logged here as it happens.
Two decades in the other kind of training, too. Seven USA Cycling Masters National Championships and a standing national record in the 35+ team pursuit. An Ironman. A degree in exercise science in progress. The through-line between the bike and the work is the whole thesis: structure beats motivation, and nobody PRs by accident.
What you’ll get, most weeks:
Full Gas — what I’m actually doing to rebuild, numbers included when they’re real
Off the Front — making the move before you feel ready, and what it costs
The Read — where work is going, from someone whose AI story starts in 2015, not 2023
Free, and staying free. If you’re mid-shift yourself — restructured out, or still in and feeling the ground move — this is written for you, one rep ahead of you at most.
The longer version of the story is in the first post: Ten years in the draft.
